Notes:
The Museum's transparent orrery may have resembled this London example ca. 1817, which had a printed paper astronomical scroll chart turning on a roller blind pierced with eight illustrations of the constellations and heavenly bodies and planetary system within a glazed mahogany case. When in use the scroll would have been lit from behind by a lamp or candle. The illustration of the solar system is pictured here.
