On 29 June 1790, "An East India Goose, alive; very handsome" donated by Mary White Morris (wife of Robert) was announced in the Pennsylvania Packet (Philadelphia). The announcement also ran in the Herald of Freedom (Boston) on 13 July 1790.

Without a physical description of the specimen, the species cannot be identified.
